Welcome to SDM College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Honnavar – a vibrant institution under the esteemed M.P.E. Society, dedicated to nurturing academic excellence, character development, and holistic growth.
It is a matter of immense pride and personal satisfaction for me to serve as the Principal of this esteemed institution, which is also my alma mater. The journey from being a student here to leading the college is both humbling and inspiring. I am especially honoured to carry forward the rich legacy of our founding principal, Dr. Vee Seetaramaih, a visionary academician of great stature, whose contribution laid the strong foundation for this institution.
I fondly remember late Dr. M. P. Karki, whose long-standing service and deep commitment as the President of M.P.E. Society played a pivotal role in building this institution. His vision and dedication are now being ably continued by our present President, Mr. Krishnamurthy Bhat Shivani, under whose leadership the college continues to grow in strength and scope.
We are proud to have been accredited with A+ Grade and a CGPA of 3.47 in the fourth cycle of NAAC accreditation, after having secured ‘A’ grade in all the previous three cycles. This recognition reflects our consistent pursuit of excellence in education and all-round development.
Our institution offers a broad range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across arts, science, and commerce streams. We are also pleased to share that we have recently introduced an MCA (Master of Computer Applications) program. This addition opens new avenues for rural students to pursue higher technical education, helping bridge the gap between aspiration and opportunity.
With a team of committed faculty, modern infrastructure including a state-of-the-art language lab, digital classrooms, advanced science laboratories, and a resource-rich library, we provide a vibrant learning environment.
