NCC Naval Wing of our college started in 1965 and has been attached to 8 Karnataka Naval Unit NCC, Karwar and has a total sanctioned strength of 50 cadets (30 Boys + 20Girls). Dedicated and physically fit students make their way to our Naval NCC Subunit in order to develop leadership quality, team building nature with high discipline.
All the activities of NCC get started at the beginning of the new academic year in the month of August. Totally 20 parade classes are conducted on Saturdays for the enrolled cadets without disturbing the academics of the students.
During the parade, various activities like drills, weapon training,and theory classes on naval subjects are conducted for the students. FootDrill, Arms Drills, Weapon Training, Leadership, Civil Defense, First Aid, Hygiene and Sanitation, National Integration, Support to Civil Authority, Social Service, Adventure Activities, Self Defense, Ecology and Nature Awareness., etc. are taught to the cadets. Along with this, Naval Communication, Navigation, Seamanship, Boat work, Anti-Submarine Warfare, Seaward Defense, Damage Control, Ship Safety, Firefighting, Ship and Boat Modeling are also taught to the cdts.
Cadets are also motivated and given chance to attend the camps like Annual Training Camp (ATC), Nau Sainik Camp (NSC), Republic Day Camp (RDC), Ek Bharath Shresta Bharath (EBSB), and most awaited trekking expeditions, etc.
Every Year, ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificate exams are conducted for 2nd and 3rd years cadets. These certificate exams add additional weightage to their resume and benefit the cadets when they are willing to join defense services or any other govt. or private sectors.
